This piece taught me to pay attention to the direction of the cutter before I start. The rotation of the cutter tended to lift out the grain at the pattern peak when I got to the deeper cuts on the bottom. Live and Learn.

I'm not very good at sorting out how patterns are made. Can you give me a few pointers on what you did here?
